PREPare For Success

Teen Health is our priority

PREP for Success is a program designed to educate adolescents on both abstinence and contraception to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV/AIDS. This program is funded by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services under the Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) grant, which targets youth ages 10-19 to reduce the risk of youth homelessness, adolescent pregnancy, and domestic violence.

Here at Beaufort County Health Department, we believe it is important to focus on youth, as they are our next generation. In making teen health one of our priorities, we strive to empower and educate teenagers to ensure they have the skills to make the best decisions for their health and well-being. Teen health is public health, and everyone is responsible for ensuring that teens are set up for healthy relationships, life skills, and positive parent-child communication.
